Bangkok Flight Services (BFS), one of the only two selected ground and cargo handlers at the new Bangkok International Airport – Suvarnabhumi Airport, is a Joint Venture between Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) and Bangkok Airways. Combining the global expertise of WFS with the local expertise and knowledge of Bangkok Airways, BFS aim to bring the highest levels of service and safety to the new airport.

WFS are one of the largest independent ground handling company in the world providing cargo, ramp and passenger services to 300 airline and airport customers at over 100 locations globally. The company’s dedicated workforce of over 10,000 employees consistently delivers on time, every time, servicing 60 million passengers, over 800,000 aircraft and handling over 3.5 million tons of cargo annually.

Bangkok Airways bring to the joint venture 36 years of aviation related and tourism experience in Thailand from the airline to airports and hotels. Bangkok Airways have proven expertise in bringing the warmth of Thailand and its people to generations of travellers from around the globe and have once again been the recipient of Skytrax Best Regional Airline in Asia in 2005.

BFS Ground Services:
  • State of the art facility

    • 7,000 square meters facility size

    • 3,000 square meters of GSE parking area

    • Fully secured, access controlled, CCTV systems

    • 6 vehicle repair bays with pits – including 2 full-size 20m bays

    • Full size paint spray booth and vehicle wash bay – 20 m long

    • Dedicated tyre repair and store

    • Bonded areas for cabin service supplies, liquor and aircraft spares

    • In-ground water tank for potable water with 4 days operational capacity

    • Brand new name brand GSE with proven reliability

  • Brand-new equipment

    • Phase 1 – Airport Opening – planned for multiple simultaneous WB operations

    • A380 handling capability planned subject to customer base at opening

BFS have constructed a state-of-the-art GSE Maintenance Facility, providing full facilities for our ramp handling operations to meet with the high demand of Suvarnabhumi Airport from the first day of operations. The company have invested over 15 million USD in new ground equipment and are capable of serving all types of aircraft from the smallest to the largest including the new A380.

BFS Cargo Services:

  • 54,548 m2 total facility size

    • Cargo warehouse - 37,200 m2

    • Operations, offices and staff facilities – 17,348 m2

  • Cargo throughput capacity 400,000 tons per annum

  • 2,500m2 of cold storage areas ambient, cool, cold and frozen cargo

  • provision for dangerous goods, radioactive material, human remains, live animals, cars and high value goods

  • 456 position ETV system with 2 TV’s

    • Cold storage for built units in ETV system

    • Secure storage for built units in ETV system

  • 16 ten foot elevating build/break positions– option for 25

  • 4 twenty foot capable elevating build/break positions – option for 7

  • Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) – 398 bins – option for 1,600

  • 2 powered ULD by-pass lanes with in-line scales served by 6 dock landside interface.

  • 26 landside loading bays (23 with dock levellers).

  • 13 airside dolly loading doors.

BFS Cargo terminal is located inside Cargo Free Zone. It is believed that this new ‘free zone’ concept at Suvarnabhumi Airport should facilitate faster growth for Thailand air cargo industry. While the annual throughput of this state-of-the-art 37,200 m2 warehouse is at 400,000 tons, the company plans to enlarge this facility, over time, by an additional 40,000 m2 of warehouse space giving a total annual capacity of over 800,000 tons.
