Austrian Energy & Environment AG (AE&E) is Austria’s largest systems supplier for thermal energy production and environmental engineering. 150 years in successful tradition of the two predecessor companies Simmering-Graz-Pauker and Waagner-Biro as well as the many years of experience and the high level of education of our staff constitute the basis of our competence.

A wide range of competences and attractive references document our first-class position where the name AE&E stands for the constant maintenance and further development of advanced processes and technologies in the fields of energy technology and environmental engineering.

In early September 2002 AE&E has been taken over by the new owner, ATB Beteiligungs GmbH of Vienna, and new structured.

ATB Beteiligungs GmbH of Vienna is a holding company owned by two Austrian industrialists, Dr Mirko Kovats and Christian Schmidt, Grad. Eng., and holds considerable participations in various industrial companies in Austria as well as abroad. The whole group of companies has sales of approx. € 300 m, and a staff of approximately 1800.

AE&E is organized as a joint stock company of a company capital of EUR 10 million and is doing its business on the markets under the well known name of „Austrian Energy & Environment AG“. The staff, including our affiliated company of Duro Dakovic, amounts to approx. 500.

AE&E is concentrating the activities on partial and total plants, above all in the fields of steam generators, flue gas cleaning systems, and biomass plants and is the centre of competence for green power solutions in the field of the thermal utilisation of renewable fuels and biogenic residues and wastes.

AE&E covers the whole range of services from the offer to the completion of a plant and moreover, if required, AE&E is always available to its customers as a partner during the whole life cycle of the plant.

We are oriented towards business all over the world and this is why 80 % of our customers can be found abroad, i.e. in Western and Eastern Europe, in the Near, Middle, and Far East, in North Africa, and the U.S.A. In our home market in Austria we are the uncontested market leader in the field of energy technology and environmental engineering.

We are located at Graz and Vienna, our affiliated company Duro Dakovic is based in Slavonski Brod / Croatia and is our highly qualified and competent manufacturing workshop.

Our main customers are public and private energy producers, municipalities, waste disposal companies, and the industry, above all the pulp & paper industry and the steel & metallurgical industry.

    • Residues from agriculture and the keeping of cattle

    • Industrial and municipal sludges of a heating power of more than 3 MJ/kg
  • Plants for the incineration of alternative fuels (RDF)

    • Thermal utilisation instead of dumping in a landfill
