Quality systems in the automotive industry

AENOR is the first recognised and competent body worldwide in ISO 9000, QS 9000, EAQF/94, VDA6.1, and ISO/TS 16949 integrated system certification.

QS 9000
QS 9000 technical specification, subscribed, among other enterprises by car manufacturers, Chrysler, Ford and General Motors as well as by truck manufacturers, defines the fundamental expectations of quality systems of internal and external suppliers of parts and materials for manufacture and after-sale service.

Through QS 9000 certification, AENOR declares to have adequate confidence in the quality system conformity of an enterprise, duly identified, with QS 9000 technical specification.

EAQF/94
AENOR has established an agreement with French car manufacturers PSA (group made up of Citroën & Peugeot) and Renault to conduct EAQF/94 evaluations, and should the case be, to issue EAQF/94 certificate which complements ISO 9000 certificate.

VDA 6.1/VDA 6.4
Through VDA 6.1 and VDA 6.4, AENOR declares to have obtained adequate confidence in the conformity of the quality system of an enterprise, duly identified, with VDA 6.1 and VDA 6.4 schemes established for the German car manufacturers.

ISO/TS 16949
The international technical specification ISO/TS 16949 defines the fundamental requirements the quality systems of enterprises which supply products to the automotive sector have to comply with.

It meets the need to unify the criteria demanded by AVSQ-94, EAQF-94, QS 9000, VDA 6.1 and VDA 6.4 schemes, the importance of which for suppliers, car manufacturers, automation equipment and component manufacturers, and in general for any professional related to the sector is undeniable. it has been adopted in Spanish as a UNE standard and recognised as an equivalent to said schemes, ISO/TS 16949 specification:

• harmonises the quality system requirements within the car industry.
• avoids the multiplicity of certification audits that the supplier has to pass before it can give service to the different manufacturers in the sector.

Through this certification, AENOR declares to have obtained adequate confidence in the conformity of the quality system of an enterprise, with the international technical specification ISO/TS 16949.

Certification process

Prior to initiating the process, the enterprise may ask for a personalised offer, both technical and commercial, by sending the duly filled in application form-enterprises with several centres of activity to AENOR INTERNATIONAL.

The stages of certification process of an enterprise with multiple locations are the same as those for AENOR management systems certification process:
