Alteon Training L.L.C. is the world's first full-service provider of airline training. With a global network of aviation training centres and a history of partnering with the world’s airlines for strategic and effective solutions, Alteon is committed to enhancing aviation safety through unparalleled training delivered to rigorous standards.
In 1997, anticipating the need in the industry for reliable high-quality third party training, The Boeing Company and FlightSafety International (FSI) formed a joint venture called FlightSafety Boeing Training International, or FlightSafetyBoeing (FSB). The company quickly became the world’s first truly global training company, offering flight and maintenance training in the 100+ seat aircraft category.
In September 2002, Boeing acquired all of FSI’s interests in FlightSafetyBoeing and initiated a name change for the company. Re-named Alteon in April 2003, the company now operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company within Boeing’s Commercial Aviation Services (CAS). CAS offers the industry’s broadest selection of aviation support products and services.
Mindful of our customer’s economic challenges and in an effort to bring training solutions to the airlines’ locations, Alteon actively explores opportunities to increase its global network of training centres. At present, Alteon operates over 80 full-flight simulators at over 22 training locations worldwide. Alteon training centres are located in:

Alteon offers the world’s most comprehensive and flexible maintenance training. With its roots in the engineering programs that built the Boeing and McDonnell Douglas fleet, Airbus maintenance training at Alteon employs the same rigorous standards. As industry practices and standards are increasingly expressed in regulations, Alteon offers a suite of courses to support the various requirements across the world for airlines and for third-party maintenance providers. Current approvals include FAA & EASA 147, CAA, CAR 30, Transport Canada CH 566, and CASA-Australia.
To support the world’s airlines, Alteon works globally with regulatory authorities to shape the training that establishes industry standards. Airlines rely on Alteon for a wide variety of total training solutions. Many of these solutions step beyond the normal bounds of traditional centre-based training to include delivering maintenance training to any facility. Further, web-based distance learning makes Alteon training available anywhere, any time, reducing travel costs and time away from primary duties.
Alteon has created the first truly global training delivery system for the airline industry. In addition to its current locations, the company is developing a distributed network of aviation training centres to deliver the same high-quality flight and maintenance training closer to airline customers. Alteon operates training facilities on six continents and in thirteen countries. Future growth plans rely on creative and cooperative relationships with airlines to share and leverage resources to bring the Alteon international standard of training to new aviation training centres in more countries.
Alteon's workforce of over 700 is proud to provide and promote aviation safety worldwide and to work together to make more training solutions available to more customers. Our mission is to continually enhance the efficiency and safety of the aviation system while supporting the economic goals of our customer airlines.
