Managing and reducing costs is a daily priority for all business owners and managers - and now, with winter approaching, many will face higher energy bills for space heating, as well as ongoing production and business needs. And there's the additional burden of the Climate Change Levy imposed since April.

The good news is that your energy cost base can be cut with near-instant effect. The answer lies with Atlantic Electric and Gas, one of Britain's newest independent energy suppliers. Created in 1999 and with the backing of Sempra Energy, one of America's largest utilities, Atlantic is not involved with energy generation or production - just supply. Through Sempra's expertise in the wholesale energy markets, Atlantic is able to offer energy, both electricity and gas, at prices that consistently undercut those of the established regional energy companies.

"Value-for-money is one aspect of Atlantic's fresh offer," says CEO Jeff Percival, who has many years experience in British and international energy businesses. "The other is service - delivering what customers want, not what we think they want."

Atlantic's dual fuel capability, endorsed and licenced by industry regulator OFGEM, means businesses have a one-stop shop for their energy supply. Says Percival: "We can usually save around 10% on historic fuel bills - but that can rise as high as 30% or more."

Aside from value-for-money, Atlantic emphasises its focus on service and convenience. Switching is very easy (just provide a meter reading and Atlantic does the rest) and customers can choose their billing options - monthly or quarterly payment, direct debit or cheque, and whether they want to receive bills by post or email.

Business size is no obstacle. Atlantic's offer is equally valid for small and large businesses, single or multi-site - and billing can be configured exactly to client needs, thanks to Atlantic's multi-million pound investment in an industrial strength, scalable billing system. That means a multi-site customer can request either one consolidated, itemised bill, or individual bills for each site.
Atlantic's growing commercial customer base reflects the company's careful management of its growth and increasing market share. Explains Percival: "Horror stories abound concerning unethical sales practices, inaccurate billing and inflexible attitudes towards resolving customer queries. We at Atlantic have carefully structured our business and our operational philosophy to ensure that we deliver what we promise. Yes, we are going for growth - but not at any price."

Big names are being drawn to Atlantic - Manchester Airport, The National Trust and drinks business First Quench are leading examples. But there are also scores of medium-size and smaller businesses who're finding Atlantic's fresh offer appealing, practical and reliable.
Adds Percival: "The cost savings we can achieve range from scores to thousands of pounds. All it literally takes for a business to reap the benefit is to call Atlantic for a comparative tariff quotation and see for yourselves the potential savings to be made by switching to Atlantic's wave of value and service.

They've caught the wave!

  • A Manchester sandwich bar was paying £1,571 annually to its energy supplier. With Atlantic, it is now paying £1,098, a saving of £473 or 30% on the previous bill.
  • A clothing warehouse in Birmingham was paying £1,536 a year. Switching to Atlantic's fresh offer cut the bill to £1,055, saving £480 or 31% a year.
  • A Lincolnshire hotel was paying £3,627 to its local supplier. Atlantic cut the bill by £942 a year, a 26% reduction.
  • A South Wales farm reduced its bill to £2,540, saving £1,149 annually by switching to Atlantic.
  • A Midlands chain of confectioners chose Atlantic and reduced its energy bills by £2,400 a year.
