We care for adults over the age of 65 who may be physically frail or suffering from a dementia-related illness. All our care homes provide high quality residential or 24-hour nursing care and our services can be adapted to suit the needs of individual residents.
Many of our homes throughout the UK provide respite care. This allows families and carers to take short breaks from their caring schedule, comforted by the knowledge that their loved one's care needs and preferences are looked after by our professional and understanding team.
We provide highly specialised supportive care for people with dementia and their families, in our unique Memory Lane Communities. These communities use a person-centred approach to promote self-esteem and encourage independence whilst providing a comfortable and safe environment to make residents with dementia feel at home.
Barchester Healthcare provides specialist care, treatment and rehabilitation for adults of all ages with complex healthcare needs such as:
All clients benefit from individualised care: whether they need support with everyday tasks or require one-to-one nursing, the care we provide is designed to build on their strengths, constantly seeking to improve their quality of life.
Our intermediate care services aim to help people convalesce after surgery or a stay in hospital. We work closely with the NHS and Social Services in order to reduce the occurrence of delayed discharges within hospitals and return people to the comfort of their own homes.
Our Close Care apartments allow independent living and manageable home ownership with the reassurance that professional care is close by. The apartments form their own feeling of community, grouped together in the grounds of our care homes. The onsite care home offers the security of 24-hour care if needed on a short or long-term basis.
Barchester Healthcare's team works closely with colleagues in the NHS, Primary Care Trusts, Health Boards, Local Authorities and Social Services to ensure the needs of the community and those individuals we support are met. Our care homes and Specialist Centres meet and exceed National Care Standards in England, Wales and Scotland and we carry out regular internal audits to measure and review our performance to continually improve our services.
Barchester Healthcare is a progressive Learning Organisation, fully committed to staff learning and development. All employees, from nursing and care staff, chefs and hospitality teams to support staff, are coached and supported through their career development. This begins with their comprehensive induction programme and continues through skill and knowledge development, often leading to a recognised qualification. These include NVQs, leadership and professional qualifications which The Barchester Learning and Development Academy is accredited to deliver.
