BCP’S SOLUTIONS FOR CORPORATE CUSTOMERS

Introduction

Account Manager

The second pillar of BCP’s strategy for corporate customers is the “Account Manager”, who is, in fact, the manager of the global relationship which each corporate maintains with the bank - that is to say, the unique “entry point”. The account manager is, in fact, an experienced professional, who is always at the disposal of the corporate customer, assuring a highly personalised service. Besides keeping track of the day-to-day activity of the company, the account manager’s mission is to visit them, identify their needs and update them on the bank’s new and most suitable financial solutions. If necessary, the account manager will be accompanied by specialists from any of the group’s different areas, thus ensuring a high level of specialisation as well.

Branch Network

BCP makes available to corporate customers the largest branch network in Portugal. In fact, due to the existing circularity among the branch netwoks of the different brands, companies may use any of the over 1000 branches of the BCP group for transactional purposes, such as deposits.

Structuring BCP’s Offer - Products and Services

Nowadays, the rhythm of development of business requires increasingly more efficient financial solutions, which must be straightforward and perfectly adapted to the every-day needs of companies. Aware of that, and based on the financial strength and security of a powerful financial group such as ours, we have structured our offer into seven groups of products, as follows: Cash Management; Term Investments; International; Credit Cards; Financing; Risk Management; and Human Resources.

These services will be described from Part I to Part V.

  1. Cash Management

Some of the products and services included in our offer are the following:

    Solutions to support Payments and Collections We have conceived and improved a package of instruments to support payments – among others: Salary Remittances, Standing Orders, the Letter-Cheque and Confirming. As for collections, we have available: Direct Debits, POS, Lockbox Service, Servilock - a service for gathering and processing values (cash and cheques), etc. All these services contribute to reduce corporate customers’ administrative costs and improve their efficiency in terms of treasury control.
    Cash Management & Cash Pooling For companies that need to hold several accounts, we have set up consolidation mechanisms, which help maximise the return on the funds, scattered over different accounts. Additionally, we have established bilateral agreements with some of our partner Banks abroad in order to provide our customers with consolidation structures, including accounts based abroad.
    Corporate Homebanking Managerland - our internet portal launched jointly with the Spanish bank Banco Sabadell - is an indispensable tool for top executives to better manage their time, their business in general, and the company’s treasury in particular.

Managerland provides access to all sorts of information on customer accounts and inquiry possibilities and a wide range of “on-line transactions”, namely: single domestic and international transfers, electronic mass payments and collections in Portugal, request of cheques issuance, and a specific offer for companies operating on the Iberian market.

Additionally, it has an area of “financial solutions”, which describes BCP’s products and services; a ”shopping” area, where some goods which are important to companies are offered at competitive and exclusive prices; and an area of “management information”, which helps companies on their day-to-day decisions.
