In 1999 belChem fiber materials GmbH introduced a patented new type of fibre to the technical textile market, the first high temperature Silex^® sliver. The fibre is sold worldwide under the registered trademark belCoTex^®. Since then several product types have been developed and every year new applications are added to the ever growing portfolio.

belCoTex^® features a unique property profile including heat resistance up to 1200°C and very high textility, voluminous and lightweight structure, low thermal conductivity and good chemical resistance. The fibre contains absolutely no shots and no binders or sizings. belCoTex^® is a non-respirable and non-irritating fibre, environmentally friendly and non-classified by any regulations due to a tightly controlled fibre diameter of 9μm.
