BHR Pharmaceuticals Ltd is a British company with point-of-care tests as its
core competency. BHR markets tests that will allow health care professionals
to detect abnormalities, begin and then optimise therapy by monitoring appropriate
chemistry.

Elevated cholesterol (and other lipid) levels are important indicators of cardiac
risk. With the CardioChek PA, testing and monitoring of cholesterol and other
blood chemistries can now be conducted at the point-of-care. The CardioChek
PA offers the professional:
- Ability to test for lipids (and other blood chemistries), provide immediate
therapy, face-to-face counselling and education.
- Increases compliance to therapy and continuity of care at an appropriate
dose/response level*.
- Comparable to laboratory systems in terms of both precision and accuracy.
- FDA approved and CLIA waved which means that it can be used by the patients
themselves. It meets the monitoring requirements of the NCEP – National Cholesterol
Education Programme
- The CardioChek PA is fast – with full lipid profiles in about 2 mins.,
and single test results in about 1 minute
- Convenient – with just a fingerstick sample (whole blood)
- The only battery-operated system for lipid testing
- Hand-held portability
- Tests do not require refrigeration.
Medi-Test™ Urinalysis Test Strips

BHR
is well known for the quality and support provided with the Medi-Test range
of urinalysis test strips. These strips are widely used in private and NHS hospitals,
clinics and surgeries. Medi-Test strips are reliable, accurate, among the most
user-friendly, and the least expensive of the three leading brands in the UK.
- Medi-Test strips are resistant to ascorbic interference, particularly
on the blood (in urine) test. This means that fewer false negative and/or
lower results will be recorded compared with some other test strips.
- Long shelf-life – usually greater than 2 years – even after opening, as
long as the test strips are kept in their original container with the lid
tightly shut.
- Medi-Test strips are easy to read – with all tests being read after 30
seconds (except the leucocyte parameter, which should be read
at between 60 and 120 seconds).
- Medi-Test Glucose and Medi-Test Protein 2 (the only protein and pH test
strip) available on Rx.
- Medi-Test’s glucose test is a very sensitive test for glucose, being able
to detect 1.1 mmol/L of glucose in urine. This enables a tighter control of
diabetes to be aimed for.

early as three days before the period is due.
- Positive results are usually seen in less than a minute.
- Used in hospital emergency wards as well as in family planning units,
surgeries and chemists.
- Low cost
