Since it opened in 1964, this modern airport has grown to handling 2 million passengers as well as 34.000 tonnes of air cargo a year.

The facilities have constantly been improved and now offer a 3100 m long runway. The airport is also certified for Category III operations.

All aircraft types up to and including Boeing 747’s can be handled at the airport. Billund Airport has its own handling company for passengers and air cargo.

The number of international routes available has risen to 18 destinations, including London, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Dublin, Stockholm, Oslo and many more.

Passenger facilities include:

• An extensive network of bus services to major cities in the neighbourhood, including Odense and Aarhus.
• Tax-free shops
• Restaurants
• Business Class lounge – the King Amlet lounge.
• Friendly and efficient staff.

A complete new passenger terminal is under construction, and will be ready for opening in May 2002.
