Overview of BMJ Careers’ services:

BMJ CAREERS’ DISCRIMINATION MATCHING SCHEME
BMJ Careers’ Discrimination Matching Scheme provides the opportunity for doctors who feel that they have been discriminated against in some way, to receive informal support from another doctor.
They can be matched with a doctor who has been discriminated against in the same way (racial, gender, sexual orientation disability or illness), or with another doctor who hasn't but is willing to give informal support and advice.

BMJ CAREERS’ CHRONIC ILLNESS MATCHING SCHEME
The BMJ Careers’ chronic illness-matching scheme provides the opportunity for doctors who have a chronic illness, or disability, to receive informal career advice from another doctor.

The concept is simple. They can request to be matched with a doctor who either has the same illness/disability as they have or to someone who is working in a certain specialty. The scheme therefore relies on doctors from all different specialties, including general practice, who do not have a chronic illness to apply as informal advisors.
