Bodystat Ltd. was founded in 1990 on the Isle of Man and has since become a Global Market Leader in Body Composition Analysis using Bioelectrical-Impedance Analysis (BIA).
The company focuses on the research, development, manufacture and marketing of innovative bio-impedance products using proven techniques, which are safe, reliable and deliver reproducible results.
The application of these measurements has an ever-increasing scope - from medicine and nutritional status, to lifestyle improvement, to fitness and health assessment.
Our mission is to remain an effective organisation, competing in global markets, where our core competency and innovation in Bio-Impedance measurement and data analysis, is used to benefit the end-user patient.
The company is founded on three important facts:

No specialist skills are required to use the Bodystat® products, which is one reason why their measurements are highly reproducible. To perform a test two Bodystat® disposable electrodes are placed on the right hand and two on the right foot. The crocodile clips are attached to the exposed tabs on the electrodes.
Once the appropriate patient data of gender, height, weight and age are keyed into the unit, the enter key is pressed and within seconds the comprehensive personal body composition statistical analysis is displayed on the two line screen display.
A 4-sided Quick Guide, illustrated in colour and laminated for durability, is provided with each Bodystat hardware device. The guide provides a quick reference to the measurement procedure, placement of electrodes and the main operating functions of your Bodystat® system.

The Bodystat® units can store up to 100 tests and these can be downloaded to a computer if additional Bodystat® software is available. Bluetooth technology is used to transfer data to a PC. Patient test data is then automatically saved and used to generate the report forms in the optional Wellness or Body Manager software programmes.
The Wellness Programme is ideal for first time assessments on patients and has been specifically designed to enable a user to promote the entire concept of wellness.
The programme’s unique graphical presentations provide information on each of the specific measurements in an educational format. The importance of each measurement relating to the patient’s health status is also explained – thus enhancing patient motivation.

The Body Manager Programme is ideal when a patient returns to be tested in order to track their changes in body composition over a period of time. The user can also track changes in cholesterol, blood pressure, lung function, grip strength, flexibility, heart rate and waist/hip measurements.
Included is a Cardiac Risk Analysis programme, an assessment of health status relating to lifestyle based on the largest study (The Framingham Study) of its kind in the world. Factors include exercise levels, smoking, blood pressure, family history, etc.
All devices are battery operated, easy and quick to use, light weight and totally portable.
Our body composition units and software programmes provide an essential patient motivational tool for weight loss programs in the NHS’s attempt to reduce the growing impact of obesity levels amongst adults and children in the UK.
