Brokk remote controlled machines, developed and manufactured by Brokk AB in Sweden, are widely used within the construction, process, cement, and nuclear industries. Introduced in the early 80’s, the Brokk method has established itself as the world leading technology for selective demolition.

Civilian and military nuclear plants worldwide use Brokk for the demolition
and dismantling of nuclear power reactors and other nuclear facilities, but also
as a mobile or stationary handling robot where there are rigorous safety
regulations for workers. The machines are designed to perform arduous duties and
ensure worker safety at the worst jobs. Remote operation reduces radiation
exposure levels while increasing productivity and accelerating schedules. The
operator stands away from the work, removed from the dangers of falling debris.
He can even direct the machine from an adjacent room with computer video
technology, safe from high-radiation areas. Attachments can also be changed via
the remote control.
The product family comprises machines and attachments ranging from small models to very powerful machines. All models are electrically driven and remote-controlled. Due to the wide selection of attachments available, such as hammers, shears, crushers, grapples, scabblers, and loader buckets, the Brokk unit can complete nearly an entire demolition job unassisted.
Every decommissioning project is unique. From each we learn something to pass on to other nuclear industries and we have by now more than ten years’ experience from installations in nuclear environments. We are therefore able to assist with project solutions and design, mock-up tests, maintenance and operator training as well as start-up and final testing on site.
