PRECISION MEASURING TECHNOLOGY
Touch free measuring, how does it work? A robot places the part to be measured, e.g. cam- or crankshaft, wheel or flywheel, in the machine. Triangulation laser sensors measure the part with accuracy down to micrometer level (thousandths of a millimeter). To achieve this the laser moves horizontally and vertically, rotating along three axes, recording the respective measuring points at lengths, angles and radii and exactly processes them, with accuracy up to µ-meters.

In addition to accuracy and speed, the method offers the further advantage of minimum machine wear and maximum variability: the touch free laser machine can be readjusted to measure a different piece within 30 seconds; this could not be done with any other conventional method.
