Calcom SA

Calcom SA - Let's look together at the solution

Our commitment to provide simulation software and services to the metal processing industry that enable the production of sound and cost-competitive metal components has brought us world-wide recognition.

Calcom's products (http://www.calcom.ch/Products/Overview.html) include:

Simulation realised with calcosoft®
Simulation realised with DEFORM™
Simulation realised with Procast

Calcom's own strengths are reinforced by a continuous collaboration with the industrial community. This explains why users of our software are not required to be computer specialists; they are able to concentrate on process modelling and generate valuable simulation results. Major research institutes and universities have also actively participated in the development and in the validation of our software products. Our privileged collaboration with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) ensures that the most recent developments in metallurgy and computing science are transferred to casting and metal forming industries.

Calcom is also renowned for its famous 'Solidification Course', which is organised yearly since 1992 and has brought together in a decade more than 300 foundrymen and engineers from industries world-wide. Additional information is available at the following URL: http://www.calcom.ch/Services/Courses.html

Calcom is certified ISO 9001 by the SGS International Certification Services AG and our quality approach shows evidence of software tools and services ensuring efficiency, reliability and quality to satisfy our customers requirements.

Alliances - Innovation and excellence

Since the beginning of its activities, Calcom has maintained a coherent strategy of collaboration with organisations and companies that have the greatest involvement in industrial development.

Calcom closely collaborates with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, in the development of the finite element software calcosoft®. Several scientists in this research institute and at Calcom work with industrial partners in extending the field of applications of these programs.

Calcom has a privileged partnership with UES Software Inc. in the USA for the marketing and development of Procast™ and Meshcast™. Besides assuming the exclusive representation of these programs in all of Europe, Calcom also provides specific modules, such as for inverse modelling and grain structure prediction.

Calcom also has a strong relationship with Scientific Forming Technologies Corporation in the USA for the marketing of DEFORM™ in several European countries, where the company has the exclusive representation.

Calcom participates in various International and European Research Programmes. It is considered to be the reference partner in finite element simulation for metal processing by numerous first-class industries. Among them, Calcom has a lasting partnership in research projects with: ABB (CH), AETC (CH), Assan (T), Alusuisse (CH), Corus (NL), Doncasters (GB), Elkem (N), Howmet (UK), Hydro Al (N), PCC (USA), Péchiney (F), Rolls Royce (UK), Snecma (F) and VAW (D).
