CARNEGIE WEIGHT MANAGEMENT

Carnegie Weight Management (CWM) is an established organisation developed by Leeds Metropolitan University to undertake the highest quality interventions, training and research to successfully treat overweight and obese children. In turn we hope to maximise our impact on the health and well being of not only the families we work with but our wider society.

CWM has developed a range of treatment options that have been supported through an evaluative evidence based approach. CWM believes that through this research process we have developed an understanding of the key ingredients required to appropriately and successfully treat childhood obesity.

We believe that every child has the right to high quality care and services that can improve their health and psychological well being. All children should be included in all elements of society and should be supported to achieve their true potential.

This holistic child centred approach to successful weight loss and lifelong weight management is currently being implemented through the following range of treatment options. All treatment options are supported by a range of staff training awards.

• Summer and Easter residential weight loss programmes
• Community based monthly PCT and private clinic programmes
• Community after-school weight loss programmes
