
This market-led and research-informed Masters programme in Cardiovascular Rehabilitation was launched in September 2003 and designed:
It was also designed to for those aspiring to work in this high profile field. The programme is characterised by its multidisciplinary approach stressing the importance of evidence-based practice in ensuring high standards of cardiovascular rehabilitation.
The programme is proving to be very popular attracting a wide range of students from the UK, mainland Europe and worldwide: doctors, cardiologists, physiotherapists, nurse practitioners, occupational therapists, health psychologists, pharmacists, pharmacologists, radiologists, exercise specialists, dieticians, nutritionists, health promotion specialists, public health managers, teachers, lecturers, etc.
Applicants must hold a first degree in a related area, or have equivalent professional qualifications and background work experience.
The postgraduate programme consists of a series of Taught Modules - each being delivered as a short, intensive course over 3 days (Thursday, Friday, Saturday), followed by 8 weeks of home-based learning and the submission of a 4,000-word assignment. Each module is accredited with 20 CPD points from the Royal College of Physicians, London.

Study patterns are highly flexible and the taught modules may be studied as single, stand-alone accredited 3-day courses, or as part of a postgraduate qualification:

The programme commences annually in September and its high level of flexibility means that the Masters degree may be completed in 1-year of full-time study or up to 6 years of part-time study, at a pace to suit personal needs and work situations. The timetable is published well in advance to enable students to plan their study leave time and make appropriate travel/accommodation arrangements.
