Considering relocation? Before you decide, take a look at what Worcester has to offer.

Worcester – a city of contrasts. The old and the new. A vibrant city yet nestling within the heart of the tranquil English countryside. A place where the spirit of innovation and enterprise continues in the lee of the imposing Worcester Cathedral and rich local heritage.

Located at the hub of the Midlands motorway network, the M5 borders the eastern edge of the city which can be easily accessed via Junction 6 or Junction 7. In the city, there is a variety of locations on which businesses can find existing premises but there is also a wide choice of sites for new build accommodation.

Many businesses such as Southco Manufacturing, npower, Worcester Bosch, WS Atkins and Yamazaki, have chosen Worcester as their preferred location. These are just some of the reasons why:

This is an exciting time for Worcester. A major renaissance is just around the corner. There are many imminent regeneration projects and new developments at various stages of commencement with others still in the planning stage. Some £½ billion of investment in the city centre alone will be made over the next few years.

The expansion of the University of Worcester will bring in an additional 4000 students on a new second campus in the city centre. This will include community facilities and feature the first combined university and public library to be built outside the USA.

The planning and economic development teams are also currently working with developers to bring forward employment sites that will offer new build opportunities to new industries within the city. Being a part of the high technology corridor which stretches from Birmingham University to Malvern Science Park, the Central Technology Belt will guide industry and ideas to expand the horizons of our businesses.

Other schemes will focus on developing waterfront facilities to maximise the potential of the River Severn and the Worcester-Birmingham Canal which flows through the city. Redevelopment schemes planned for the regeneration of the Diglis Basin and the Royal Worcester Porcelain sites will provide water-edge properties for offices, housing, retail, restaurants and a hotel as well as create public spaces and promenades that will attract residents and visitors alike.

With a current population of some 93,500 people, Worcester is the county town and a sub-regional tourism and shopping destination. Identified as one of the five sub-regional foci for potential expansion, Worcester will grow its resident and business communities over the coming years.

Worcester has an economic development team committed to supporting businesses in the city. Whether it is a start up situation, relocation or moving within the city, there is a free and confidential service available to help. These dedicated services include providing information on available property, help to locate local goods, services, training and business advice and ongoing support through an aftercare service.
