CRS engineering and technical professionals have an average industrial metals experience of 25 years. These professionals supply the two primary services offered, which are Engineering Consulting and Laboratory Testing.

The engineering group provides three types of synergistic services: consulting; research and development; and engineering. The engineers specialize in failure analyses and complex metallurgical analyses; however, with the vast amount and breadth of knowledge at CRS, they conduct a variety of different engineering projects. They are also capable of handling projects with large sample quantities.

The engineering group also offers expert witness testimony and litigation support. With a complete metallurgical laboratory on site, investigations and consultations are easily done in an expedient manner.

The laboratory services group is divided into specialties as well. These include Chemical Analysis, Metallographic Characterization, Mechanical Testing, Fatigue Testing, Corrosion Testing, Wear Testing, Heat Treatment, Machining, Fastener Testing and Technical Support.

CRS is A2LA-accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 for specific tests listed on our A2LA Scopes of Accreditation; testing laboratories that comply with this international standard also operate in accordance with ISO 9001 or ISO 9002. We perform our metallurgical engineering and testing services in accordance with a wide range of ASTM, SAE and manufacturer-specific material and testing specifications.
