Heritage

Established in Glasgow, Scotland in 1871 by brothers George & James Weir with a team of 14 employees, today the company is incorporated into Clyde Pumps which is part of the Clyde Blowers portfolio and employs a skilled workforce of over 600 people worldwide. Throughout its long history, the company built up an enviable reputation for innovation and made significant contributions to some major engineering advances. With major contributions to the development of aeronautical, shipping, marine and power supply engineering for over a century, its ability to evolve and develop is impossible to over emphasise. Vision & Values

Clyde Pumps Incorporating Weir Pumps Glasgow is already one of the top suppliers of pumps in the world. Our plan going forward is to further improve on this position. Key to this vision is relocation from our current plant in Cathcart, Glasgow to a site in the Greater Glasgow area in 2009.

We will continue full scale pump manufacturing including both new equipment and spare parts within this new state-of-the-art facility. These new premises will include a world class test and development facility.
