COMETAL ENGINEERING is a Company devoted to the engineering and the manufacturing of aluminium extrusion handling systems, presses and foundries for aluminium. The Company was established in 1980 and currently has achieved the leadership worldwide for its range of products.

COMETAL ENGINEERING has organised its production in two workshops:

• one dedicated to the extrusion presses and handling systems;
• one dedicated to furnaces and aluminium foundries.

The key of the success of COMETAL ENGINEERING is found in two main factors:

1. to consider the Customer the absolute central point of the philosophy of the Company;
2. the continuous technological development of the products and the consistent investments on research and development.

The strategy of COMETAL ENGINEERING is to supply integrated systems to customers, including foundry and complete extrusion plant.

COMETAL ENGINEERING has made quality crucial to the production process – the testing department is responsible for checking the machines in response to COMETAL ENGINEERING’s stringent quality specifications and the various safety norms in force in different countries. All the machines are pre-assembled in the workshop and tested prior to despatch.

• Extrusion press
• Gas fired furnace with tapered heating of the logs
• High convective billet heater

• Run-out table (full automation) 1 person only needed) many solutions like double length, Kevlar belts and rolls
• Double puller for the execution of the flying cut on the die mark
• Balanced Intensive Cooling System (BICS)
• Automatic handling of the profiles by means of automatic stackers (many solutions capable to satisfy many exigencies)
• Automatic handling of the baskets by means of automatic cranes, rollway and chain conveyor.
• Ageing furnace
• Furnace for dies
• Special machines like brushing machines for logs, presses to remove the dies from their rings and cutting scraps machine
• Foundries to recycle the scraps
• Furnace and heat treatment plant

COMETAL ENGINEERING is proud to be the supplier of the most important extrusions Groups, i.e.:

plus the most important foreign and Italian independent extruders.

From the commercial point of view, the network is organised, in addition to the direct contacts followed by the Italian head office, also by local companies located in Switzerland, United States, China, Brazil and Greece.

The key points of COMETAL handling system, characterised by a high tested and absolutely reliable technology, are focussed on the overheating and quench of the billets based on an Agreement with HYDRO METAL PRODUCTS on the Balanced Intensive Cooling Air/water System of the profiles immediately after the press for which COMETAL ENGINEERING has the exclusivity worldwide patent issued by the Germany Company WSP, that is participated by COMETAL ENGINEERING.

Another feature that is achieving great success in the market is the new type of continuous handling system, based on a new concept of stacker and destacker, big baskets without spacers and continuous ageing furnace. COMETAL ENGINEERING is now developing this idea, introducing the concept of the no baskets handling system.

Several new ideas are under development in COMETAL Research and Development Department that works in close connection with very important Italian and foreign extruders, taking advantage of the continuous feed-back from the people who have to manage the plant assuring the most interesting results both in quality and in productivity point of view.
