Compass Connections is one of the UK's longest established independent
specialists in Indian outsourcing.
With our 10,000 sq. ft, facility in Mumbai India, Compass undertakes many
different back office operations for clients in a wide range of industries
and has successfully moved many thousands of man hours of work to India
We offer clients our years of practical experience and create for each
client their own Indian Team Extension™ providing them with the control,
flexibility and answerability necessary to run an outsourced operation
successfully.
Compass provides the framework which enables its clients to gain the
benefits of Indian outsourcing immediately and without the large capital
cost, setup time and risk of creating their own facility. In return for a
simple 'per head' charge which is dependent on the skill level and practical
experience requested by our clients, we provide air conditioned, western
standard offices, desks and PC's and handle all IT and HR issues.
Currently we employ over150 staff on behalf of clients who range from
accountancy companies to payroll specialists and from a specialist software
retailer to a brewery franchiser. On behalf of these clients our staff
produce management and year end accounts, process payrolls, administer
databases and provide a technical helpdesk.
At Compass, each client is treated individually, given its own discrete
team and assisted in learning 'distant management'. Our staff are available
by phone, e-mail video conference and fax and we encourage clients both to
visit our premises and to invite staff to the UK for familiarisation and
training.
Indian Outsourcing
Obviously, there are financial savings to be made by utilizing the income
differential between UK/US and Indian salary levels. However, many clients
find that the quality and enthusiasm of our staff often produce new
efficiencies within the outsourced processes themselves. Add to this the
staffing flexibility that can be accommodated, taking on additional staff as
and when required at a known net cost and you can begin to see why each of
our clients has increased the amount of work they have outsourced to us over
the years, in some cases by almost 500%.
What can be outsourced
Most procedures which have been or could be documented can be outsourced.
We spend time with our clients looking at their processes and helping select
which processes or elements of processes would be suitable for outsourcing.
We then bring over staff for training at the clients premises. This achieves
two objectives, it ensures that staff thoroughly understand the process they
are to take on and how that process fits within the clients business and, as
importantly, it ensures our staff can begin to build the personal
relationships necessary to ease the whole process.
Our staff
India produces a huge number of highly qualified English speaking
graduates. Every year over 2 million new graduates qualify. Compass offers
its staff the chance to work for UK and US companies within a western
working environment, a highly prized opportunity for Indian graduates. We
are therefore able to recruit the very best staff qualified in whichever
disciplines our clients require. All staff can work in shifts to accommodate
the time difference between UK and India enabling our staff to work
alongside UK/US companies or to creatively use the time differential to
enable processes to be carried out overnight.
