Cornwell Management Consultants plc was formed at the end of 1991 as Cornwell Affiliates to provide cost-effective, high-quality, independent management consultancy services. From the beginning, Cornwell has set out to provide clients with a distinct style of management consultancy. This is based on an assumption that our clients wish us to be integral to their process of development and change rather than just external advisers.

During the new millennium, independence has emerged as a major factor. Cornwell Management Consultants plc is totally independent, and is wholly owned by its Directors and staff. We have no affiliations or partnerships with any software vendors, hardware manufacturers, systems integrators or Internet Service Providers. The provision of management consulting services is our sole business and we do not have a hidden agenda to provide other services on the back of the advice we offer. Our findings and recommendations are untainted by extraneous considerations, and our clients invariably comment on the “honesty” of our work. Nevertheless, our work constantly brings us into contact with the main suppliers, and we enjoy good working relationships with all of them.

Cornwell is now a highly successful mid sized consultancy, the primary business of which is strategic, management and technical IS consultancy for major public and private sector organisations. Our fee income for the year ended 31st December 2002 was in excess of £7.2 million. This continues our unbroken track record of achieving year on year growth since the company was formed over 11 years ago.

This success can be attributed to the most important characteristic of the firm, which is the quality of our staff and the depth and breadth of their consulting experience. The majority of Cornwell consultants have joined from the major management consultancies where they have been Managers, Senior Managers or Partners. Typically, they have chosen to join Cornwell in the desire to practice their profession in a cooperative environment that is truly independent, and our most senior consultants have experience and expertise gained from at least 15 years in the consulting industry. Many of our consultants combine extensive line management experience with their consultancy background, and thus have a deep understanding of trends and issues in their chosen sectors.

This depth and breadth of experience is the basis of our reputation for offering our clients pragmatic advice, delivered professionally and competently even when dealing with contentious issues in a sensitive client environment. Furthermore, because Cornwell’s overheads are considerably lower than those of larger companies, we are able to offer a highly competitive combination of quality and price, and hence value for money.

Cornwell’s main office is based in Effingham, Surrey and there are now offices in the City of London, Manchester and Dublin, reflecting the growth of business and the number of clients.
