CST – Computer Simulation Technology was founded in 1992
to develop and market software for the
simulation of electromagnetic fields.
Since its inception, CST has grown to over 145 employees, with direct sales and
support offices throughout Europe, North America and Asia. Customers can be
found in markets as diverse as Automotive, Telecommunications, Defence,
Electronics, and Medical Equipment, and include market leaders such as Daimler,
General Motors, Lucent, Raytheon, RFS, Siemens, and Sony.
On average CST has grown over 20% faster than the EM market every year and now enjoys a market share of more than 30%. This growth has been achieved by focusing on CST’s core competence and by working with a network of best-in-class partners who offer complementary simulation technology. Alongside links to EDA players such as Cadence, interfaces to the leading MW+RF circuit simulation players including Agilent/EEsof and AWR support CST’s strategy to connect best-in-class tools to a well integrated design flow.
Strategic acquisitions in 2007 have further increased CST’s technological competence and market share.
CST’s success is based on the implementation of unique, cutting edge technology in a user-friendly interface, and its flagship product, CST MICROWAVE STUDIO®, is the industry standard for 3D Time Domain simulation.
Newly acquired technology – CST PCB STUDIO™; CST CABLE STUDIO™, CST MICROSTRIPES™ - supports CST’s position in the automotive market, particularly with respect EMC analysis.
CST’s simulation tools enable engineers unprecedented insight into the performance of electrical devices before prototyping, allowing them to see and understand what is often hidden to measurement. This “virtual prototyping” can significantly reduce expensive cut-and-try iterations, helping to bring products to market faster. But not only can the design be optimized, also its installed performance can be simulated. This is of particular importance in the automotive industry due to environmental influences on the device and the increased relevance of EMC.
