Since 1992 operates D.A.R.E!! Consultancy as a commercial test house for the Automotive Directive (95/54/EEC) and recently the new directive 2004/104/EEC.

Automotive Directive

In case of the Automotive Directive, D.A.R.E!! Consultancy offers the following services:

Specific automotive tests

In addition to the tests mandatory for e-marking (95/54/EC or 2004/104/EEC) D.A.R.E!! Consultancy also performs measurements and examinations in accordance to the following automotive standards:

E-marking

As e-marking is a requirement for the European market; E-marking has a world-wide coverage. E-marking is performed under auspices of the United Nations. The tests for E-marking are conducted in conformity with Regulation 10 (R10).

Technical competence

Our technical competence for immunity testing ranges from DC until 18 GHz and from 3 V/m to 200 V/m. Standards under the Automotive Directive cover a frequency band till 1 GHz. At this moment many sources of disturbance like GSM (1.8 GHz), Portable Computers and microwave transmitters operate in access of these frequencies. So many automotive customers require STU's to comply with much higher immunity levels. D.A.R.E!! Consultancy can generate fields to 200 V/m.

ESD and pulses

The Automotive Directive encompasses no requirements for ESD and pulsed immunity. D.A.R.E!! Consultancy can perform ISO 7637 pulse tests and ESD tests at levels till 30 kV.

Application for e-marking

The national authorities require a number of forms to be completed and several technical documents need to be submitted. D.A.R.E!! Consultancy can assist you in the application process. Our consultants know the requirements and have the experience to obtain e-marking in a cost effective manner.

Conformity of Production (COP) testing

The Automotive Directive requires conformity of production. This means prove that produced vehicles, components and STU's are conform the originally approved type. The quality system should encompass a documented control plan to assure continued conformity (e.g. ISO 9000 series or equivalent). The verification of Conformity of Production may also be extended to the actual testing of selected production samples. At D.A.R.E!! Consultancy we make planning agreements for random testing at our facilities, keeping your COP up to date and inline with your Quality Assurance Plan.

Technical Service

D.A.R.E!! Consultancy is accredited by the Dutch RDW under certification number RDW-99050006-01 as a technical service and by the Dutch Accreditation Council as an accredited test laboratory (L279).

Consultancy

Experienced consultants from D.A.R.E!! Development can assist you in solving specific technical problems related to EMC problems in automotive vehicles, components or STU's. Consultancy can be performed on time and material basis as well as No Cure No Pay.

Facilities

At their facility they have a semi-anechoic chamber of 7,5m x 11m x 6m (24ft x 36ft x 19ft), a full anechoic chamber with a free space of 4m x 4m x 8m (13ft x 13ft x 26ft), a 6m x 20m and a 12m x 20 m Open Area Test Site (OATS), a 5m G-TEM Cell and twelve independent lab spaces all equipped with full compliant test equipment selected for high speed testing and performing measurements.

Capabilities

In our semi anechoic chamber vehicles with dimensions of 3 meters wide, 5 meters long and 4,2 meter height can be tested. The maximum allowable weight is 10.000 kg.
