Battery Chargers, DC-DC Converters

The company’s products, including battery chargers and DC-DC converters, use innovative power electronics design and digital control to deliver highly efficient, integrated solutions. Delta-Q works with leading electric and hybrid vehicle manufacturers to develop advanced power products that allow these vehicles to simply operate better at a lower overall systems cost.

QuiQ battery chargerDelta-Q continues to add to its growing list of OEM customers for chargers and converters. These innovative products offer tremendous benefits in size, efficiency, power factor correction, universal input, and reliability. The flagship QuiQ battery charger is the charger of choice for many electric vehicle OEMs. On and off-board vehicle applications include golf cars, neighbourhood electric vehicles, utility vehicles, floor maintenance machines and aerial work platforms.

Delta-Q has worked with OEMs to develop purpose-built charger products to meet demanding technical requirements and schedules, and has successfully delivered on these programs.QuiQ :: HF/PFC Battery Chargers

Integrating DC-DC converters with chargers is a recent product innovation at Delta-Q. The benefits of having a fully isolated 12V supply working alongside the main battery pack is ideal for OEMs requiring reduced size and cost combined with high performance and reliability. The QuiQ-dci has a constant power 400W 12V converter and charger in the same enclosure, ideal for vehicle OEMs that require 12V output to power accessory loads such as lights, wipers and radios. The PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) charger line incorporates a full featured automotive-grade, low power 12V converter to run power management controls in the key-off mode. Integrated systems reduce overall cost in a number of ways. Product cost is reduced through the sharing of common parts such as electrical components, thermal management, wiring and packaging. Installation effort and cost is reduced, as is the cost of cabling to interconnect previously separate products. OEM inventory management costs are also saved, as the number of discrete modules is reduced. System reliability is improved through the reduction of multiple wiring connection points (generally the single largest failure area in vehicles). Total component weight is also reduced, improving vehicle efficiency.

Delta-Q continues to be at the forefront of Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) charging systems, working with aftermarket PHEV conversion companies and automotive OEMs involved in plug-in hybrid development programs.
