Technology, Media & Telecoms (TMT): We advise both leading and emerging players from across the broader TMT sector, both in the UK and across our international network. Our key areas of TMT expertise are Intellectual Property, Life sciences, Media and entertainment industry issues, Outsourcing, Sports law, Technology and IT and Telecoms. Real Estate & Retail (RER): We work with clients whose primary business is property or whose business relies on a significant property base - whether construction, investor, developer, retailer, government or public sector. Our real estate lawyers have considerable support from our highly-rated Planning team, which deals with all aspects of the planning process, highways and judicial review. Our Environment team also regularly advises on contaminated sites and we draw from the wealth of experience within our Corporate, Banking and Taxation service lines.

Our offices in the Middle East

Abu Dhabi

Since its establishment in 1981, our Abu Dhabi office has developed into a full-service office with notable expertise in finance, energy, construction, corporate, aviation and public and regulatory law. It has a client list which includes government institutions and local and international banks and companies. Staffed by 10 UK and international lawyers and offering capability to work in the Arabic language, the office is able to advise on a wide range of matters. These include the incorporation of companies, conventional and Islamic finance deals, project finance, general corporate and commercial matters, real estate, energy, corporate finance and major arbitrations.

Cairo

Continuously working in Egypt since 1964, the office has unrivalled understanding of the local legal and economic environment.

The office's growth has mirrored Egypt's own legislative and economic development and is run in association with the El Otiefi Law Office. The El Otiefi Law Office and Denton Wilde Sapte work closely together, combining the skills of more than eighteen lawyers and sharing offices, expertise and know-how. The firm employs lawyers of Egyptian, French, Italian and American nationality. The association provides a comprehensive range of international and domestic consulting and legal services and is the recipient of numerous awards.

Dubai

The Dubai office, our biggest in the region, was established in 1969. Since then it has developed into one of the leading firms in the region. Staffed by a team of over 40 UK and internationally qualified lawyers and offering bi-lingual Arabic and English language capability, our offices are able to advise on a wide range of matters including corporate/commercial law, banking, corporate finance, Islamic finance, energy, IT/IP, projects and construction, real estate, telecoms and arbitration and dispute resolution.

Our additional presence in the Dubai Technology, Electronic Commerce and Media Free Zone enables us to provide a dedicated service to companies based in Dubai Internet City and Dubai Media City.

Muscat

Our Muscat office is a key part of our Middle East network. Today, with 3 partners and 14 other lawyers qualified in Oman, Australia, Sudan, the UK and the US, it is the foremost legal practice within the Sultanate. The office provides a full range of both Oman and English law advice and has highly regarded lawyers practicing in banking and finance, corporate and commercial, projects and energy and construction and real estate. The lawyers in our litigation group have rights of audience before the local courts and between them they have more experience in Oman than any other dispute resolution practice. We also have a rapidly growing intellectual property, technology and telecommunications practice. The office is also recognised as having outstanding Arabic language capability.

Riyadh

In Saudi Arabia, Denton Wilde Sapte operates in association with The Law Firm of Wael A. Alissa, one of Saudi Arabia’s leading law firms. Our Riyadh office is uniquely positioned to advise our clients on all aspects of doing business in Saudi Arabia, the largest economy in the Middle East with the largest proven oil reserves. Denton Wilde Sapte has decades of experience serving local and international clients in Saudi Arabia, and the addition of the Riyadh office enhances these capabilities.
