EIRICH in the carbon
industry
Who are EIRICH and what are EIRICH’s activities?
We are machinery builders with in-house manufacturing facilities and our own
engineering office for plant engineering.
EIRICH have been building machines and complete plants for the carbon
industry for more
than 30 years. A constantly growing number of renowned manufacturers of carbon
products all over the world uses the EIRICH equipment.
The flexibility of our equipment enables us to serve each of the following
sectors:
- Primary aluminium smelters
Thanks to a long-standing collaboration with primary smelting companies
such as
> ALCAN, Hydro Aluminium, Aluminium Pechiney and
Alusuisse/Algroup <
and international engineering companies such as
> Solios Carbone and Outokumpu Technology <
we can offer the latest state-of-the-art technology for the preparation of
prebake and Soederberg anode paste. Most of the systems are continuously
operated with capacities from 10 up to more than 60 t/h in one single line.
Our latest development is the EIRICH Mixing Cascade (EMC)
for the all-intensive preparation of anode paste at lowest cost and highest
efficiency.
- Producers of electrodes, cathodes and metallurgical paste
Well-known manufacturers such as SGL Carbon, C/G, UCAR Carbon, Showa Denko and
ELKEM, just to name a few of our satisfied customers, have been convinced of our
technology for a long time. For this application, we use batch-wise operated
systems with capacities of approx. 4 - 18 t/h per machine.
- Producers of specialty carbon products
Companies such as SGL, Schunk and DaimlerChrysler as well use EIRICH
intensive-mixed carbon paste for the production of carbon brushes, slewing
rings, carbon brake disks etc.
Dealing with EIRICH in the carbon industry means
- Experienced specialists
- Our proprietary know-how
- Own test centre for demonstration and verification tests
- Laboratory and pilot-scale equipment for in-house tests available
- Engineering, manufacturing and service by one supplier
- All key machinery is manufactured in our own workshops
- Reliability for more than 130 years
- Worldwide representation and after-sales service
Advantages of the EIRICH technology compared to conventional systems
The EIRICH MIXING CASCADE (EMC) for anode paste preparation is the most
advanced system on the market:
- Low capital investment costs (CAPEX) – savings of at least 1.5 Mio EUR
per line
- Low operating and maintenance costs (OPEX) – savings of at least 30 %
- Perfect adaptation to low raw material qualities and fluctuations of
properties
- Throughput rates of more than 60 t/h in one single line, thus perfectly
fulfilling the future requirements of the primary aluminum smelting industry
- Optimum mixing and cooling conditions for excellent paste quality
- Simple machine design
- Vibrocompacting of anode paste up to 165 °C without vacuum system
The EIRICH REMIXER-COOLER for anode paste provides:
- Ultrahigh cooling efficiency
- Precise temperature control
- Additional mixing energy input
- Additional mixing time
- More homogeneous paste
EIRICH BATCHWISE OPERATED SYSTEMS are the ultimate equipment for electrode,
cathode and metallurgical paste preparation
- Productivity increases in green production of graphite electrodes up to
200 %
- Fully electric coke heating = the most elegant solution on the world market!
- Significantly increased mixing quality
- Investment and maintenance costs up to 30 % lower
- Reduction in pitch consumption of 2 - 5 %
- One EIRICH mixer may replace 8 - 12 conventional batchwise operated
machines!
Up to now EIRICH have delivered more than 110 machines to the carbon
industry worldwide. Nowadays, more than 50 % of the world’s prebake anode paste
are prepared in plants having at least one EIRICH mixer (1990 approx. 5 %).
You should benefit from our know-how as well!
