EMS-GRILTECH is a business unit of EMS-CHEMIE AG a subsidiary of EMS-CHEMIE HOLDING AG (www.ems-group.com).

EMS-GRILTECH has manufactured and marketed GRILON^® fibres since 1952 and Griltex^® hotmelt adhesives since 1965. These polymers are intermediate products, which are further developed into highly specialized products for use in innovative and technically demanding applications. They create added value for our customers and help them achieve success in their markets.

EMS-GRILTECH's corporate office, research laboratory, technical service centre and production facility are located at Domat/Ems, Switzerland. We also have a further production plant and technical service centre located at Sumter, SC (USA), as well as a sales office and customer service lab in Osaka (JP).

EMS-GRILTECH is present in all major world markets either with its own sales companies or represented by agents.

With more than 200 employees, EMS-GRILTECH can concentrate solely on hotmelt adhesives and fibres for technical applications, and is market leader in its field.

Outlook for the future

The development of new applications in the field of technical lamination provides us with the opportunity of selling our Griltex^® hotmelt adhesives in a strong growth market. Demand for Griltex^® adhesive products in the field of automotive interiors is showing steady growth as these products fulfil all requirements for environmental compatibility, recycling, fast process cycle times and, as a result, lower manufacturing costs. This also applies to many other technical applications such as home textiles, filters, packaging, additives, wire coating, shoes, printing and inks, master batches etc., where our modern coating and laminating techniques can replace conventional processes. We further increase our market share and strengthen our market position through specific market research, continuous development work and product modifications to satisfy individual customer applications.

In the apparel interlining market we are recognized as worldwide market leader for hotmelt adhesives and bonding yarns and continue to strengthen our position by offering new and innovative products as well as superior technical and customer services.

We are also recognized as worldwide market leader for fibres in the paper machine clothing industry. The unique spinning process developed by EMS-GRILTECH enables us to manufacture new GRILON^® fibres which, in turn, open up new product opportunities for our customers. Great potential for new development work remains following the introduction of flat fibres, fusible mono-component and bi-component fibres.

Our many years experience in the main market segments, high-performance technical advice and outstanding customer services are important factors for our success. Ongoing development work with a range of selected customers enables us to continue to manufacture new and innovative products, modified to satisfy changing market requirements. This again provides added value for our customers and secures us market share for the future.
