Development of the emOPT Altair IHF system for Continuous Homogenizing Furnaces

Ex Mente's emOPT AltairIHF system challenges the conventional way of thinking by introducing a changed concept of controlling the continuous homogenizing furnace. The system makes it possible to charge different product types directly following one another into the furnace, leaving no empty saddles between them. This immediately translates to an increase in throughput through the furnace, in cases where the furnace is the bottleneck determining throughput.

The system calculates an optimal set of set points at each walking cycle taking into account the product type and state (thermal and metallurgical) of each billet inside the furnace.

Hard and soft alloys are treated simultaneously in the furnace while maintaining the highest possible throughput rate, ensuring that quality specifications are adhered to for all billets, and ensuring that neither product nor equipment is damaged.
