Alford Technologies is an award winning UK based company specialising in developing highly innovative explosive tools mainly in the fields of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), Breaching (EMoE) and Explosive Engineering.

The company was founded in 1985 by Dr. Sidney Alford who, over the quarter of a century, has built up a formidable reputation as one of the world’s leading inventors and creators of novel ways of using explosives. Originally supplying specialist demolition and breaching equipment to the Special Forces, the company also developed a range of Improvised Explosive Device Disposal (IEDD) and Conventional Munitions Disposal (CMD) tools that were revolutionary in their performance. Our current range of tools is still largely based on designs and concepts from that period.

The company is the global market leader within the field of EOD both CMD and IEDD and in 2004 was awarded the Queen's Award For Enterprise in the Innovation category, the highest award of its sort in the UK.

The biggest distinguishing feature between Alford Technologies’ products and virtually all others is that none of ours contain explosives but are filled by the user with the standard explosives they already have. As both military and police become multi-role and global conflicts requiring more international deployments, being able to deploy lightweight, low-cost tools that are transported and stored without explosives has become increasingly important. Alford Technologies’ tools are ideally suited to this new way of operating.
