ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY SYSTEMS

F&J’s state-of-the-art air sampling and airflow calibration systems provide a fully digital system that is integrable with a centralized computer system interface necessary for efficient operation of remote and unattended operation of air sampling/monitoring stations.

The diversity of our product line allows the air monitoring specialist to select from traditional analog air sampling designs, basic yet powerful feature-rich digital designs to comprehensive digital systems integrating the digital air sampling system with other instruments such as radiation detectors, meteorological stations, GPS and various communication options.

AIR SAMPLING AT WORK

Accuracy, automation and reliability are the primary requirements for nuclear industry radiation air sampling/monitoring protection program instruments. Advance technology instruments are required to reduce the labor intensive demands of traditional analog air sampling instruments in today’s manpower shortage environment.

AIRFLOW CALIBRATION LABORATORY

F&J operates a very sophisticated airflow calibration laboratory whose results are traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). F&J can calibrate its digital airflow calibrators and digital air samplers to four different reference standards for temperature and pressure. These reference standards are:

Classical Standard Temperature and Pressure (STP): 0ºC, 760 mmHg
Normal Temperature and Pressure (NTP): 20ºC, 760 mmHg
Standard Ambient Temperature and Pressure (SATP): 25ºC, 760 mmHg
Modified Normal Temperature and Pressure (MNTP): 70ºF, 1 ATM

Calibration of airflow instruments to the proper reference standard facilitates the users ability to comply with a specific regulatory reference standard and allows airflow measurements to be comparable at the same T and P so as to ensure proper comparisons of volumes and flowrates among different sample locations and different sampling periods.

DETERMINATION OF TOTAL RADIOACTIVE IODINE IN COMMERCIAL NPP

F&J is the world’s largest manufacturer of radioiodine collection cartridges utilized in NPP facilities. The radioiodine cartridges include TEDA impregnated activated charcoal cartridges and cartridges containing silver zeolite adsorbents.
