FORTIS :: Great in Small Turbines

Wind energy on a human scale

The wind energy industry is developing rapidly. The industry worldwide is marked by growth in double figures. And where will this lead?

We can clearly see the immense scale of the MW turbines in our landscapes at one extreme, and the small micro wind turbines for rooftop mounting at the other.

But what is to be found between these extremes? A range of small wind turbines that are small enough to blend into the landscape, but that are still powerful enough to make a real difference. Free-standing turbines in the 1-10 kW range can supply enough electricity for a modern house, or can help to make a small industrial or agricultural company more energy-efficient. Small turbines help the owners to make their contribution to the environment and to reduce their dependence on other less stable countries.

Nowadays these turbines are sufficiently efficient to provide a good return on investment, and with the available subsidies they have even become profitable! Often the installation of a small wind turbine is a first step on the path towards greater awareness of energy use. An electricity meter running backwards can make it a sport to increase the overall environmental performance.

Fortis Wind Energy offers a range of wind turbines of between 0.8 and 10 kW on poles with a height of 6 to 36 metres. One of the first companies in this industry, Fortis has 25 years' experience and has installed more than 6,000 turbines. Fortis turbines have proved to be reliable, quiet, and maintenance free. There is a complete service package in which the dealers take care of all necessary planning permission and subsidy requests, so the purchaser can relax in the confidence that everything is taken care of. This is the concept that has made Fortis great in small turbines.
