Fortum uses a variety of energy sources for the production of electricity and heat: renewable hydropower and wind power, renewable and fossil fuels, and nuclear power. Fortum applies best available techniques to reduce environmental impacts and risks of production. Fortum Energy Partners offer homeowners a comprehensive service package through which customers an order fuelwood and home appliance maintenance services or even obtain a solar power system for their holiday residence. Environmentally aware consumers may choose to satisfy their domestic electricity needs using the Wind Electricity option or Norppa (ringed seal) Electricity produced by hydropower and biofuels, which complies with the requirements of the "Norppa recommends eco-energy" label of the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation. All Fortum Energy Partners' customers receive an environmental product declaration for the purchased electricity on request.
