Since 1947, the mission of Gilardoni has been the design and manufacture of advanced x-ray and ultrasound equipment for security, Non-Destructive-Testing and medical applications.

Gilardoni is based in Milan, Italy, employing 220 people to provide R&D, manufacturing, sales and service on a global scale.

Gilardoni is a R&D oriented company: we perform joint R&D projects with major multi-nationals, universities, clinical centres, and we are ISO 9001 & 46001 certified. We have numerous patents and commit heavy investments to develop our core technologies.

Our R&D and manufacturing department are in Mandello del Lario, Italy, supported by a global network of suppliers: offices, branches and agencies for service and distribution can be found all over the world. Our factories use lean production and JIT techniques to increase “speed to market”, improve quality and contain costs. Our products comply with international regulations (IEC, UL, CE...) and are approved by major authorities (FDA, TUV, etc.).

Security Division

Gilardoni offers a complete range of luggage screening systems, from small hand baggage to mobile systems for large objects. Gilardoni's multi-energy x-ray technology meets all scanning and inspection requirements, and is used worldwide in airports, public buildings and customs.

BAGGAGE AND LUGGAGE SCREENING

FEP ME 640 is Gilardoni's best-selling system, certified by STAC, the French Civil Aviation Authority. FEP ME 640 uses the most up-to-date technology in detection, acquisition and software management. Its tunnel size is 600mm x 400mm.

REAL-TIME BAGGAGE X-RAY EXPLOSIVES DETECTION SYSTEM (E.D.S.)

FEP ME 640 DEXGIL is a breakthrough carry-on luggage x-ray security system. Automatic Explosive Detection, superior image quality, high configurability and network connectivity are the key features of this innovative system. The neural software DEXGIL, fully developed in our R&D laboratories, provides the operator with an automatic, real-time explosive detection function, essential to face today’s terrorism threats. FEP ME 640 DEXGIL complies with E.D.S. (Explosive Detection System) requirements.

BULKY BAGGAGE SCANNING

Gilardoni offers FEP ME 975, 990 and 1000. FEP ME 975 has a tunnel size of 900mm x 750mm; FEP ME 990 of 900mm x 900mm, and FEP ME 1000 of 1,000mm x 1,000mm.

CARGO SCANNING

FEP ME CARGO, designed to inspect pallets and large packages, features the most up-to-date detection technology, acquisition electronics and PC data management software.

Its tunnel size of 1,500mm x 1,650mm makes this equipment ideal for use in airports, harbours and in any activity which involves the use of cargo.

SELF-CONTAINED MOBILE X-RAY SYSTEMS

Gilardoni can satisfy customers who need mobile x-ray systems with FEP ME 975 SCANTRUCK, a unit featuring all the specifications of  regular scanners, but with increased sturdiness to perform mobile scanning.

Mobile systems help to reduce costs, by enabling X-ray screening at different locations in one investment: it is the ability to rapidly deploy screening without prior notice.

OPTIONAL SOFTWARE

Gilardoni systems can be upgraded with ADS and TIP to increase performance.

ADS detects illegal items through an automatic alarm device: a red rectangle highlights potentially explosives materials, while a yellow one indicates contraband items, such as drugs and currency.

TIP is a software that displays virtual dangerous objects randomly on the operator's monitor, among real images, to have the attention always at highest levels.

Gilardoni is the security systems supplier to most Italian airports and Customs. International installations are on a worldwide basis and include customers in Europe, Middle and Far East, Latin America, and also North America, as an OEM supplier.
