Central Dredging Associationa (CEDA) Central Dredging Association (CEDA) A non-profit international professional association which provides an independent forum for the exchange of knowledge on dredging techniques, technology and dredged material management for the development of good practice guidance. CEDA facilitates contacts within and outside the dredging community. It enhances the public understanding of dredging. CEDA is open to all those involved in dredging related activity who live or work in Europe, Africa or the Middle East. There are two categories of membership: individual and corporate.

CEDA’s interests include all aspects of dredging including research, planning, design, equipment operation and management. Members are drawn from consultancies, researchers and academia, port authorities, government bodies, contractors, builders of dredging vessels, and suppliers of ancillary equipment.

The International Maritime Pilots' Association (IMPA)The International Maritime Pilots’ Association (IMPA). A professional non-profit making international technical association. One of the main objectives of IMPA is to enable Pilot Associations to have a voice in International Maritime Forums. In particular we play an important part in the work of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) whenever the interests of pilots or pilotage are concerned.

IMPA has a worldwide membership of over 50 associations representing more than 8,000 Maritime Pilots. IMPA can provide a wealth of information on current topics, briefings on media issues and access to other pilotage bodies.

The Editor of GLOBAL PORT SOLUTIONS is Nigel Walker, a Consultant Editor with over 25 years’ experience in the ports and transport industries and related fields. Previously Public Relations Manager at Associated British Ports and Communications Manager at the British Ports Federation, he set up his own consultancy business 12 years ago, and has since worked for a number of organisations in the ports and transport and import/export sectors, including the Ports of Hamburg and Bremen / Bremerhaven, Canada Maritime / CP Rail, Compangie Maritime Belge, the British Ports Association, and the Department of Trade and Industry. He is also a consultant to a number of international energy companies, including Suez and Alstom. Nigel is a member of the Chartered Institute of Journalists and the Institute of Public Relations.
