HMR Group is a holding of companies specialized in supply of products, equipment and engineering advice to the aluminium industry.

Our potroom vehicles, anode stud bars and collector bars are used in all Norsk Hydro's smelters in Norway. We obtained this position by continuous development of our competence, reliability and competitiveness.

HMR Group's business concept is to offer total and complete supply to our major customers, i.e. the aluminium smelters. Therefore among the products of the companies within the Group you will find:

• Pot construction and start-up, including potshell, superstructure, bus bars, flexibles, anode stud bars, anode yokes and collector bars.

The firm was established in 1956 as a family company. Historically it was connected with maritime industry, but together with a growth of the importance of processing in Norway, the business focus has been changed.

Potroom Vehicles

Potroom vehicles and mobile equipment are exclusively designed and produced by HMR Hydeq. The company manufactures a wide range of products. So far over 200 vehicles of different kind, including Tapping Vehicles, Anode Changers, Feeders, Spading vehicles, Crust Breakers, etc. were produced and delivered to the aluminium smelters.

Located very close to Hydro Aluminium Aardal, HMR Hydeq takes an advantage of close co-operation with potroom specialists, operators and R&D personnel in developing the most suitable equipment for pot-handling for today's and tomorrow's technologies.

Complete Potroom Installations

HMR provides complete installation of bus bars, cathode and anode flexibles, pots and superstructures ready for start-up. HMR has been involved in all main extensions projects performed in Norway in last years.

Anode Stud Bars

Hot rolled round bars of black carbon steel of required quality, diameter from 110 mm up to 180 mm, delivered in bar full length or in ready cut pieces. Exclusive network of international sub-suppliers assures very competitive prices. HMR covers more than 80% of the Norwegian market demand in this product.

Cathode Collector Bars

HMR delivers cathode collector bars in wide range of sizes and lengths. We provide them also ready machined. Presently HMR covers nearly 60% of the Norwegian market demand for this product, so you can be sure that the steel quality you get has been confirmed in practice for many years.

Anode Yokes and Rods Assemblies

HMR supplies Anode Yoke and Rod Assemblies (stem-bracket assemblies) with cast or welded anode yoke, according to customer's design. In 2002 we participated in project in Oevre Aardal, Norway, where we delivered 8,400 pieces of new anode hangers to Hydro Aluminium Aardal and in 2003 we delivered 4,600 pieces of new assemblies to Alcan Primary Metal - Europe, Lynemouth Smelter, UK.

Engineering and Project Management

HMR Engineering provides engineering and project management services to clients to help them to design and build manufacturing processes and industrial facilities.

Our goal is to motivate all those involved to achieve the project objectives on time and to the specified cost, quality and performance.
