The new definition of High Performance

The 1988 established HPI - High Performance Industrietechnik Gesellschaft mbH in Braunau-Ranshofen, Austria has since years a reliable reputation in Europe for the engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection and commissioning of turn-key equipment for the aluminium industry.

Under the responsibility of Herbert Hubbauer - Managing Director and Rainer Edtmeier / Oliver Jansen - Sales and Marketing, the company looks back to an excellent year 2001 and a good start into 2002 with the successful commissioning of a horizontal casting line in Japan and a sawing line for billets in China giving confidence for the presentation of HPI products and services on the world market.

1. Continuous Homogenising Plants for Aluminium Extrusion Billets

HPI offers plants capable to handle billets with diameters from 100 to 380 mm, billet length up to 8500 mm and an annual production capacity from 10.000 to 150.000 tons.

2. Sawing Lines for Profiles

HPI developed a sawing line capable to cut bundles or layers with best results in:

• Length precision
• Cutting angle precision
• Best cutting surface quality
• And all at an high production rate

The main features of the HPI sawing line for profiles are:

• Cutting of profiles with higher dimensions and weight
• Bundle and layer cut for high production rates
• Controlled movement of the profiles
• Precise cutting length and angles
• Utilisation of "space-cut-sawing blades" assuring excellent surface quality and nearly burr-free edges
• High capacity chip exhaust system
• High degree of automation by using robots

3. Sawing Lines for Aluminium Extrusion Billets

The sawing equipment has been designed to saw aluminium extrusion billets on a low noise, material save and high capacity operational level.

Billet diameter: 50 - 400 mm
Billet cutting length: 150 - 8000 mm

The equipment has a modular design, can be retrofitted and the plant design is variable according to customers needs.

The following additional equipment can be offered as supplement :

• Automatic scrap removal
• Chip exhaust system and briquetting press
• Billet stacking system
• Log stacking system
• Full- or semi-automatic strapping station
• Automatic weighing system
• Ink jet system for billet and stack marking
• Client and charge protocols
• Production data and control documentation system

4. Ultrasonic Testing Equipment for Aluminium Extrusion Billets
(Continuous Process)

The extrusion billets are tested on lunker, pores and inclusions by an ultrasonic device.

Testing equipment for material composition and surface quality are available.

The ultrasonic testing device is supplemented with the necessary handling equipment and automatic control and documentation systems.

5. Horizontal Casting Machines

Characteristics of the HPI horizontal casting system:

• Co-operation with SAG for the supply of the mould technology and producer know-how
• Casting diameter for extrusion billets: 67 to 280 mm
• Casting length for extrusion billets: 500 to 6500 mm
• T-bar casting
• Busbar casting
• Ingot casting
• Automatic sawing system
• Weighing system
• Automatic stacking device
• Ink Jet marking system for single product and stack
• Electronic process control and documentation

Annual production capacity between 5.000 and 35.000 tons
