THE NAPC REVIEW 10th ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATIVE EDITION

THE NAPC REVIEWThe NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PRIMARY CARE (NAPC), which was established in 1998, is celebrating its 10th Anniversary in 2008. The NAPC was formed as the result of a merger between the National Association of Fundholding Practices (NAFP) and the Association of Independent Multifunds (AIM). The organization, both in its original guise and in its current role, offers support and advice to its members and also holds routine discussions with Ministers for Health and their officials, with a view to influencing policy on the future direction of primary care.

The NAPC believes the future of primary care lies in service redesign, public and patient engagement as well as in the Practice Based Commissioning scheme, which it enthusiastically supports. The Association is heavily involved in meetings with Government to assist in removing some of the barriers to the operation of the scheme, brought about by the reconfiguration of Primary Care Trusts and some of its personalities.

Times are challenging for primary care treatment and yet they present huge opportunities in the future for everyone involved in the U.K healthcare sector. The NAPC welcomes your show of support in celebrating the last 10 years and looks forward to the interesting and dynamic changes ahead.

A special 10th Anniversary Commemorative Edition of THE NAPC REVIEW, an official title of the NAPC, is being published to celebrate this milestone in the history of the NAPC. This unique publication will look back on major changes and advances in primary care treatment over the last 10 years as well as providing health sector management with all they need to know about the primary care-led National Health Service and the most vital issues facing the health sector and the NHS today.

THE NAPC REVIEW is a major platform of communication and forms an important part of the Association's ongoing work in informing, exchanging ideas and uniting medical experts in order to raise the standard of healthcare in the UK . The book is specifically designed to provide decision-makers within the profession with relevant information on the latest developments in clinical care, medical supplies and equipment, pharmaceutical supplies and management and education issues.
