NEG Micon is an important player on the international wind power market, employing approx. 1500 people world wide. With almost 20 years of experience in the business, we have been involved in the development of wind power technology from the very start, and have, therefore, been instrumental in elevating the business to the advanced level it occupies today.
More
than 7,400 of the company’s wind turbines are today in operation around the
globe, responsible for approx. 23,4% of the total wind power production
capacity.
In addition to our "nerve centre" in Denmark, NEG Micon has an established network of subsidiaries, representative offices and service companies in more than 20 countries throughout the world, bringing NEG Micon close to customers on key markets.
In 1998, the company turnover amounted to DKK 3,019.8 million.
As world demand for power continues to grow, NEG Micon aims at providing reliable wind power solutions that consider both individual customer needs and place the least possible burden on the environment.
NEG
Micon offers the broadest range of wind turbines available, ranging from 600
kW to 2,0 MW. All wind power installations from NEG Micon are designed to
ensure easy operation, high availability factor and maximum performance.
However, what works well for one particular site may not necessarily be as perfect for another. When the site presents special conditions, or when specific requirements to the grid capacity are present, NEG Micon is in a position to provide the perfect solution.
In the years ahead, even more effective and larger turbines are expected to see the light of day, both for land and offshore locations.
NEG Micon objectives:
It is NEG Micon’s objective to supply:
According to industry experts it is clear that the potential in the market for wind turbines is enormous in coming years, with an estimated annual growth rate of 16% in the volume of MW installed world-wide up to the year 2003.
Ready to do battle in the offshore sector
NEG Micon expects that the wind turbines supplied for the offshore wind farms of the future must be in the 3-5 MW range if the projects are to be profitable. NEG Micon expects to be able to produce wind turbines of this size at the beginning of the new millennium
Project development
Project development is increasing in importance on a wide range of markets. NEG Micon has gained valuable experience in this field – a field in which many of the Group’s competitors have yet to become involved.
This tendency, which involves selling larger numbers of wind turbines to individual purchasers, is expected to continue in coming years. NEG Micon’s customer base is expected to include increasing numbers of utilities and project developers, as well as governmental and development organisations. At the same time, several of NEG Micon’s primary markets are moving towards the purchase of complete projects, i.e. wind power installations with all the necessary approvals, operating and service contracts, guarantees and financing packages.
