Neurology Insights USA

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Millions of people in America suffer from some kind of degenerative neurological condition. The American Parkinson’s Disease Association estimates that more than 1.5 million people in the United States have Parkinson’s disease. Epilepsy affects 3 million people according to the Epilepsy Foundation and The Alzheimer’s Association estimates that 4.5 million people have Alzheimer’s disease. An estimated 400,000 suffer from Multiple Sclerosis according to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and 700,000 Americans experience a stroke each year. In fact, failure to receive appropriate treatment in time makes stroke the third leading cause of death according to the American Stroke Association.

With the huge burden of neurological disease set to grow and with the problems of an ageing population coming to the fore, up to date information needs to be readily available to the clinician. To address this need, Sovereign Medical is producing Neurology Insights USA to provide an in-depth analysis and overview of the current issues in neurological disease, focusing on the most relevant topics within migraine, stroke, epilepsy and neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease and Multiple Sclerosis.

The report will serve as a source of information for a targeted audience of medical doctors and professional caregivers involved in providing diagnosis, management and treatment regimens for a range of neurology related disorders.
