Our company continuously develops such niche businesses on a global basis.

Since its incorporation in 1918, Nitto Denko has augmented its original lineup of electrical insulation materials to include products used in fields as diverse as leading-edge information equipment and electronics, health care, housing and construction, home electric appliances and automobiles. These products are based on our core skills in the adhesive tape field, polymer synthesis, applications and processing. All play a part in improving the quality of life.

By dedicating ourselves to the challenge of applying creative thinking to world-leading technologies, we at Nitto Denko are remaining true to our commitment to creating new value.

Product and Services

A key strategic market for Nitto is the Automotive Industry. For the automobile of today and tomorrow, Nitto developed a series of products to seal, bond or protect.

Sealing
Our EPT-Sealer products are an excellent barrier for water, wind, sound, vibration and heat. Spaces of a complex configuration can be filled with Thermavator, a product which foams on exposure to heat. Nitohard allows steel panels to be made more rigid without thickening the metal.

Protecting
Surface Protection Film, and especially Rapgard, can be used instead of wax to protect the body of the automobile during transport. We supply insulating tapes for wire-harnessing applications or we can replace parts of the system with own-developed flexible printed circuits.

Bonding
Double coated adhesive tape with butyl or acrylic adhesives can be used to bond almost every part that needs permanent or temporary fixation.

Research and Development

R&D efforts are an essential part of creating a new value. Throughout its existence, Nitto has established a strong R&D organization that involves over 15% of the entire work force. In the area of developing basic technologies e.g., computerized molecular structure design and analysis are actively pursued to accumulate and deepen the technology base in the overall pursuit of advancing technological themes that apply to the company-wide operations.

Nitto’s technological capability is underpinned by a determined customer-first policy. Development staff in each business sector collects information from customers in order to identify new market requirements. Engineers engaged in R&D activities communicate directly with customers and translate customer feedback into product development.

Quality standards

High quality and reliability are an integral part of Nitto products, which play important roles in a wide range of fields. Advance analysis and evaluation are essential for a product to continue functioning properly in the actual environment in which it is put to use. To this end, Nitto has adapted advanced evaluation technologies in all processes from design to manufacturing, enabling mathematical and scientific analysis and demonstration testing on electrical, electronic, optical, and mechanical properties.

All our factories worldwide are ISO 9001 certified. Furthermore, our EPT-Sealer products finishing line at Nitto Europe NV is QS 9000 certified.
