NKI GROUP 21st Century: new projects and developmentsIntroduction In this new millennium NKI GROUP B.V. has started new projects and developments. Based on 30 years of trading and the successful completion of 360 projects in more than 65 countries, NKI GROUP B.V. is already recognised as one of the world leaders in terms of Airport Terminal Building fit out In 2000 and 2001 we finished two major projects: New York JFK Terminal 4 and Olympic city of 2004, New Athens Airport. Started with the Mass Transit Railway Corporation signage project of 20.000 signs in Hong Kong, NKI Group is now also recognised as one of the world leaders in these projects. In 2003 for the Kowloon Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) more than 24.000 items will be installed by NKI. The new projects of NKI GROUP B.V. are more and more based on the new approach of a " total solution". In projects as Cairo, Salekhard (Russia), Manila and Lahore we supply a total integrated package of e.g. interiors, signage and all kind of furniture. New York JFK International Airport, Terminal 4 A new highlight in NKI's history is the work furniture of new Terminal 4 at New York's JFK airport. Operational since May 2001, the terminal is equipped with 144 check-in counters, 52 immigration service stations and many more workstations. All furniture is manufactured according to the highest NKI standards and shows a perfect combination between GRP and stainless steel. New Athens International Airport Being one of Europe's latest passenger facilities, New Athens International Airport is the first project for the Olympic Games of 2004. NKI proudly contributed to the realisation of this airport by providing all work furniture for services including check-in with canopies and monitor encasings, immigration and several information facilities. The furniture consists of GRP in grey and blue colours, enhancing the airport's appearance. Total Airport Solution With the inclusion of Aviobridge into the NKI organisation, coupled with the enhancement of capabilities, NKI GROUP B.V. is now able to provide a fully integrated package, attending all aspects of the passenger environment and providing "total airport solutions". This facility is not offered by any organisation similar to that of NKI GROUP B.V. These solutions may consist of a complete package of railway-station interior and signage, counters and canopies, signage, baggage handling, X-ray, all interior fit-out, fit out of retail-areas, passenger boarding bridges with project-management and all other services or products you need to offer your passengers an area of comfort and safety. Passenger Safety Passenger Safety is a factor considered by NKI GROUP B.V. as of paramount importance, a factor of foremost concern when designing/engineering products for the incorporation into airport passenger terminals. Air travel today is regarded as common place, just another form of transportation. This common place form of transportation brings with it various volumes of passenger movement world-wide, this in turn brings hazards associated with high numbers of people travelling from country to country.
