Nuclear Technology International
Executive Summary

Demand for electricity around the world is steadily and rapidly growing. Meeting that demand is a major issue for governments around the world, and there is increasing concern over the use of fossil fuel to meet that requirement. The International Atomic Energy Agency has significantly increased its projection of world nuclear generating capacity. It now anticipates at least 60 new plants in the next 15 years, making 430 GWe in place in 2020 - 130 GWe more than projected in 2000 and 16% more than actually operating in 2006.

There are three basic areas of interest to the nuclear industry for future growth:

Nuclear Technology International aims to address the issues affecting all these areas of growth and will explore the latest technologies that will enable the industry to increase its capacity to meet the ever-growing demands for power worldwide. The publication will provide senior executives throughout the nuclear industry worldwide with all they need to know about new developments, advances in technology, management issues and environmental matters. It will also provide a unique forum for the exchange of the latest industry and government thinking.

Designed to be used by senior executives in the nuclear industry around the world, Nuclear Technology International will be read by those people responsible for the construction, development and management of nuclear projects. It will reach executives in charge of purchasing technologies, systems and equipment that will enable governments and countries to increase their nuclear capacity to meet the ever-growing demands for power.
