Paradise Property
Ltd, the Gozo-based real estate agency in Malta, offers
English speaking property-seekers real estate services that speak
their language. The principals, Peter Pisani, Robert Pisani and Bryan Attard,
have all lived or worked either in the UK, the US or Australia. They
understand the cultural resistance to high pressure tactics. To them and to
interested parties from other countries as well, they provide informed
assistance with no obligations.
Since launching in 1990, the agency has become one of the leaders in real
estate on Gozo, specializing in selling and letting
residential, holiday and commercial property. In 2003,
they expanded to provide a wider range of services emphasising outreach to
English-speaking clientele. Now they’ve added turnkey projects, property
management and customized services. Free consultations are offered to
anyone interested in Maltese real estate…no strings attached.
Why Gozo and Malta?
If you haven’t visited, you may be wondering why you should invest in
this island nation. Malta is 95 sq miles with 82 miles of coastline. Gozo is
32 sq miles with 26 miles of coastline.
And, ah …what coastlines!
Interestingly varied, with bays and inlets and naturally deep harbours,
these coasts are particularly water sport friendly. Great diving sites, some
of the best in the Mediterranean, dot the islands. Fishing and boating go on
most of the year. Hiking, rock climbing and country walks beckon year round.
Five star hotels and condominiums, many with spas and marinas ring Malta. On
Gozo, there are three 5 star hotels, two with spas. In addition to the
expected nightlife of a sun/fun destination, are nine World Heritage
sites and the Hypogeum, one of UNESCO’s Ten Archaeological Wonders of the
World.
Hot summers and warmish weather the rest of the year, with clearly
defined seasons, encourage enjoyment of cultural and sporting events as well
as visits to amazing historic sites.
Ggantija, in the village of Xaghra, is a magnificent pair of Neolithic
goddess worship temples. Astoundingly, they are the oldest free standing
structures in the world, built 1,000 years before the Pyramids and
Stonehenge.
Just down the road, overlooking the stunning red sand beach of Ramla Bay,
is the cave said to be the home of Calypso where, Homer wrote, she seduced
Ulysses and held him in thrall for seven years. Not far away, are ruins of a
Roman villa built in the first century AD with hot water baths. And from
early in the next millennium are vestiges of underwater walls constructed to
prevent pirates from penetrating and pillaging. Nearby, from much later, are
the 16th and 17th
century watchtowers built by the crusading Knights of Malta.
Adding to the cultural appeal are world class opera on Gozo and
first-rate productions at the 18th century
Theatre Manoel in Valletta, Malta, the third oldest operating theatre in the
world. And then there are the pre-Lenten carnivals, the flashing fireworks
of summertime village festas and religious celebrations throughout
the year.
At heart, however, it’s the people. Warm and welcoming, they’re eager for
you to share the wonders of their country with them.
