Prolog Development Center A/S (PDC) is a software house specializing in development of planning, decision support and information systems for the aviation industry.  PDC‘s systems often combine AI techniques (artificial intelligence) with automatic functions for decision support. All our solutions focus on intuitive graphical user interfaces, user dialogues and the logic behind, which make it easy for the use to utilise our systems in the daily work.

Aviation - airlines and airports

PDC delivers a portfolio of planning systems to airlines and airports all over the world. The systems support many central planning tasks as slot co-ordination, operations control – assignment of aircrafts and crew, maintenance planning, resource management for airports and ground handling companies.  PDC has delivered specific solutions to more than 20 airlines and 80 airports in more than 20 countries.

SCORE - the most successful airport slot coordination system

Timetables for major airports in 20 countries are created with decision support technology from PDC. The airport slot coordination system SCORE is developed by PDC for IATA Slot Coordinators.  Information from SCORE is used to feed the airport operational databases. The customers are Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, United Kingdom, Finland, Iceland, India, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Morocco, Norway, Portugal, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand and Turkey.

Airline Operational Control

For nearly ten years, PDC has been a business partner of SITA, an international IT and communications supplier to airline and airports, providing artificial intelligence decision support systems for airline operations control and business planning. The collaboration includes supply of the solutions:

Together with SITA, PDC supplies airlines world wide with state-of-the art decision support technology, including the FleetWise Rule Technology. The customers are VIM, Asiania, Belavia, Comair, Egyptair, Hainan, Kuwait, Lauda Air Italy, Philippine Airlines, Royal Jordanian, SriLankan, Tunisair, Mahan, Siberia Airlines, CagoItalia, Jeju, Sunwing,Cimber and Estonian.

PDC has worked closely with SAS since 1987.  This has resulted in several applications – decision support systems in different fields – being used in Scandinavia, Korea and Malaysia and continually improved in co-operation with SAS.

PDC-StaffPlan, the intuitive staff rostering system

Optimal rostering of airport and airline ground staff are of significant importance to the competitiveness.  PDC’s staff rostering system address these needs.  Today, the system is being used in different domains –and configurations – and more than 200.000 people’s shift plans are made with PDC-StaffPlan.

PDC StaffPlan is used by almost all Danish Hospitals (among others HS – the Greater Copenhagen Hospitals with more that 25.000 employees) and counties, more than 50 municipalities and a great number of public and private organizations. In Norway the Norwegian Post Office uses the system for about 30.000 employees all over the country besides a ferryboat service and domestic airline. COOP Nordic has installed PDC StaffPlan Retail version in Denmark and Sweden for more than 60.000 employees. A Swedish Retail chain is installing the StaffPlan Retail version in all stores in Scandinavia, Baltic States and Germany. Other users in Denmark are Copenhagen and Billund Airports, Applus Car Inspection, The Danish Administration of Navigation and Danish Railways (S train division)
