POWER Engineers is a 730-person employee-owned power system design firm based in the U.S., and with offices throughout the U.S. and in Ireland and Argentina. POWER is a comparatively small company with close-knit teams of career workers. We can point to a long history of work with renewable generation projects, including small hydro, geothermal and wind projects.

300 MW of Geothermal and Rising: POWER is arguably the world's leading geothermal power plant engineer, with recent design experience with more than 300 MW of new geothermal generation capacity in California, Nevada, Mexico, Hawaii, Costa Rica, Kenya, Iceland and the Philippines, including advanced binary systems and straightforward flash and steam plants for baseload service.
Thousands of Kilometers of Power Line: POWER is also one of the
world's most prominent (and most trusted) transmission and distribution
engineers, specializing in system studies, underground and submarine
transmission and distribution, advanced substations, and new generation
plant interconnections.
Our areas of particular expertise include the following:
Geothermal Power Production Systems and Facilities: Estimates and Studies, Flash Plants, Dry Steam Plant Upgrades, Advanced Binary Cycle Designs: POWER is now performing the engineering for two large flash plants in Kenya, as well as performing design work for ongoing upgrade projects at Calpine's Geysers plant complex in California, and other geothermal generating plants in California and Nevada. POWER recently performed binary technology consultation and estimating services for the U.S. Department of Energy and Scottish Power/PacifiCorp, and has been the engineer for a number of binary plant projects including Húsavík, in Iceland, and the Heber Geothermal Project in California.
