Raufoss has through its expertise in metallurgy and design diversified through research and product innovation into various fields such as implosive fittings for overhead transmission lines.

The Implosive Connector Technology is based on our metallurgical know-how, our metal working capability and more than 75 years of pyrotechnical expertise.

The products were developed in co-operation with the Norwegian Power Board, and further developed by Raufoss to meet the needs of the power industry.

	HIGH ENERGY METAL WORKING Implosive Connectors utilize the energy in a small implosive charge to compress the metal sleeve over conductor or wire. The pressure is applied instantaneously (1/10000 sec) and the compression of the sleeve and cable is performed with a high degree of accuracy.
Implosive connectors eliminate the need for hydraulic presses and associated tools, and 1/10000 second later the joint is finished
