go wind!
Ropatec wind energy systems for stand alone and grid connection applications

The ROPATEC Windrotor is an innovative and patented high speed vertical axle wind power turbine system. Due to the optimal shaping of both the rotor nucleus and the two wings, the Windrotor permits a systematic passage of any wind from any direction and in addition the reverse running wing is pulled backward resulting in an inversion, and consequently an acceleration of the secondary air flow against the main wind stream.

The ROPATEC wind turbine is an aerodynamic and compact construction. Independent of wind direction and at wind speeds of 2 to 3 m/s, the rotor starts automatically in any position even under a torque load. Windrotor is truly noiseless and does not require maintenance. Remarkably, it is furthermore adjustment free (both mechanically and electrically). With other words no wing regulation is required. In addition the permanently magnetised generator ensures no risk of any unwanted electromagnetic field generation.

The ROPATEC Windrotor makes use of all forms of wind forces and directions and does not need to be stopped during gales. It provides regular nominal power even during storms. Windrotor is RPM auto stable (air density 1,25 kg/m3 at sea level) i.e. if wind rises above 14 m/s, the Windrotor gradually and automatically closes the air current to the effect that pressure is built up on the counter current side resulting, for the rotor to rotate a its nominal RPM. Consequently the rotation is maintained at its nominal level without any wind pressure switches or any other sensors. To increase aerodynamic performances and static requirements both wings and nucleus are sandwiched between top and bottom plates.

Dependent on the geographical conditions, the rotor should be installed at a height of between 2.80 m to 20 m above ground level. For security reasons, the bottom of the turbine must be no less than 2.80 m above ground level. A supporting structure made of ferro-concrete/reinforced concrete (cement with monier iron) is recommended. Masts or shelters are optional and not included as a standard. The ROPATEC Windrotor is particularly well suited for consumers not connected to the public grid network, e.g. refuges and mountain huts, isolated farms, cellular base stations, television and radio stations, beacons, remote islands etc. plus any users in general interested in a reliable and alternative source of energy with an interesting return on investment. The ROPATEC Windrotor is furthermore an excellent energy choice for direct drive applications such as water pumps, mills, compressors, etc. due to its high rotation starting point.

The Windrotor offers unique advantages !

The standard Windrotor versions are guaranteed for maximum operational wind speed of 56 m/s (~200 km/h), excluding damages caused by alien objects.  On request, a special version of the Ropatec Windrotor for wind speeds in excess of 56 m/s is available.

one shop solutions!
Together with our customers, our aim is to provide optimal remote energy solutions. The Windrotor is available not only as a stand alone product but also for connection to grid networks. A valuable solution for those caring about alternative energy supply.
