As inflatable seal usage and rubber technology has developed in recent decades, Seal Master has been in the forefront of product development and engineering advances.

Founded in 1974, the company has designed and fabricated over 6,500 distinctly different elastomeric seal products.

As nuclear technology and acceptance of nuclear power grew, Seal Master became a valued and trusted supplier and resource for the industry.  Significant among this relationship was the development of seals for nuclear installations throughout the U.S. and Canada, as well as for installations in Korea, India and Argentina.

HOW DOES AN INFLATABLE SEAL WORK?

Seal Master Inflatable Seals are not simple rubber extrusions.  They are custom built, fully molded and fabric reinforced specifically to fit your particular application.  This ensures optimum performance for long-term inflating/deflating operations.  A variety of fabric is available.

INFLATABLE SEAL GEOMETRY:

Inflatable seals are molded in different planes; radially in, radially out, axially and combinations thereof.  They will conform to many different contours.  They are made in strips with closed ends or in continuous loops.  Each seal is designed to install with secure and protective retention.

UNIQUE ADVANTAGES OF AN INFLATABLE SEAL:
  • Provides a leak-proof closure, yet allows clearance when needed
  • Simplifies the design of the structure and hardware
  • Minimizes the need for close machining and/or fabricating tolerances
  • Not subject to compression set which negates effectiveness of other seals
USES OTHER THAN SEALING:

Sealing is just one of many tasks for Seal Master inflatable seals.  With their simplicity and versatility, they are ideal for use as actuators, brakes, valves, clutches, wipers and for many other innovative applications.  They replace cumbersome, hard-to-maintain processing and handling components to minimize downtime.

COMPLIANCE:

All materials used by Seal Master are laboratory tested.  All products are inspected and pressure tested a minimum of two times prior to shipment.

Functional testing is performed if required.

Seal master maintains an in-depth, formal Quality Assurance Program in compliance with the following standards:
